Harber, of Fort Lauderdale, said he and his crew of John Roming, Chris Starkweather and Eddie Lefebvre ran southeast out of Port Everglades Inlet on Blue Safari. They started following the first of several frigate birds off Hollywood and caught some small schoolie dolphin and blackfin tunas up to 19 pounds trolling lures and baits. "About the second or third frigate, we were down towards Haulover."

Harber said. "The schoolies were jumping and we got lucky. This big bull came into the spread." The fish ate a skirted ballyhoo on a Shimano Tiagra 30 reel with 40-pound line at around 9 a.m. Harber fought the dolphin for about 30 minutes. "We got him to the boat like five times. We were being pretty careful," Harber said. "He spooked hard and made 100-yard runs several times. He jumped from the start to the finish. He was so close yet so far for a long time."
